Getting all my ducks in a row...

I kept hearing this weird noise. I said it was some sort of bird. Danny said it was just some kids. We were both right. There were two little girls from down the street at our front door who were very excited because they found a mama duck and 8 babies in our yard! They chased them up to our front door, but the girls ran off when they saw me looking back at them. I got a couple pics through the window. Danny told the girls not to chase the ducks anymore and we watched them cross the street. They all made it over the curb except for one, but the good mama duck waited until the little duck finally conquered the curb! Then they moved about until they reached the very center of the cul-de-sac across the street for a little rest. I walked across the street camera-in-hand to try to snap some pics about 10 minutes later. They were still there, trapped between two houses. I hope they all make it to the pond down the street.

I have some mallards (two males, one female) that are regulars at my birdfeeder (when there is food there), but no babies. I've got lots of pictures of them, and one time they had a huge white goose that was tagging along with them.

I enlarged the top photo and it looks like there's nine little ducky heads. Tried the bottom one but can't determine the number. They sure are cuties.
